Tofo is a small coastal town with a lovely beach that offers safe swimming, good reefs for fishing and snorkeling, beach bars and dive schools. The Scuba diving sites are amazing.

Tofinho, less than 1 km south, is situated on a more exposed and rocky headland, producing some excellent surfing conditions. Tofinho Point is also a favourite spot for fishermen when a high tide covers the shelf, allowing casting for kingfish into the deep waters beyond.

A spectacular blowhole near the tip of the Point gives a raw display of power when there is a large swell running. Tofinho is also the site of the Frelimo Monument to Fallen Heroes, close to where unfortunate victims of the former regime were thrown into a sea cave, to be drowned by the rising tide.
